This, one of Avebury's trademark "block faces", peers up into the eastern sky (similar to the left looking face labelled 2 on the Swindon stone, visible here, which also has a distinctive "button nose"). There may be a subtle open mouth which might suggest that this face is singing. If so it is not the only east gazing choral character set among the monoliths, for example the pair of singers carved onto the Hag Stone (click here for details, see my note there concerning Ladies A & B).
