These four images were taken as part of a project I started during my year long photography course at Kingston University. I had several projects on the go at once, and at some point had to choose which to pursue and complete before the course ended, and which to abandon. I chose to stop photographing these commuters in favour of developing my landscape and still life portfolios. However, these four images stayed in my imagination for all these years, and by including them here I acknowledge my affection for them. They reflect the emotional bleakness of my own time working in the CIty, partly due to the photographic technique I employed, and partly because commuting to work is inherently a pretty depressing activity.
